HONOR FLIGHT-TWIN CITIES
Escorting your veterans to their memorials in Washington DC

Eden Prairie, MN – On Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 6:30PM, Mr. Mike Johnson will speak about the mission of Honor Flight Twin Cities to celebrate America’s Veterans by inviting them to share in a day of remembrance and closure at our nation’s memorials in Washington DC. This event is part of the Wings of the North Air Museum’s Speaker Series that offers a free presentation on the first Thursday of each month.

Background: Honor Flight Twin Cities flies local World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam War veterans to Washington DC to spend the day touring their memorials. The flight returns to Minneapolis/St. Paul airport the same evening to a raucous welcome by the veterans’ friends, relatives, and the community. It’s a welcome that many of the veterans never got when they returned from their military service.

Mike Johnson lives in Minnesota and has been active in the National Honor Flight organization for 16 years as a guardian/traveling companion, tour guide, and historian. He will talk about some of the amazing veterans he has had the honor of meeting as well as the memorials, monuments, and locations that the veterans visit. He will have information on how you can add a veteran to the waiting list for an Honor Flight, which is provided at no cost to the veterans thanks to generous donations from both individuals and companies of all sizes.

The Wings of the North Air Museum is located at 14893 Sierra Lane on Flying Cloud Airport in Eden Prairie. Access to Flying Cloud Airport is through Gate H, one mile west of Flying Cloud Drive just south of Pioneer Trail. Museum volunteers will assist with directions to parking. The presentation will start at 6:30PM; doors will open at 6:00PM. The event is free but donations are appreciated. Reservations are not required.
