    Take the exit off of Pioneer Trail (NW corner of Flying Cloud Airport ) into the sports field just west of the airport. The gate H is a couple of hundred feet down on the left. Push the “WOTN Hangar” call button from the gate, we will buzz you in. The hangar is the first one when you drive in, 72D at the end of Sierra Lane. Park on the north end of the hangar.

    EdenPrairie, Minn. – On Monday, July 29, 2024, at 7pm the Wings of the North AirMuseum on Flying Cloud Airport in Eden Prairie will host a presentation byFrancis Gary Powers, Jr.  His father was at the center of one of the most pivotal events of the Cold War when theAmerican U-2 spy plane he was piloting was shot down over the Soviet Union onMay 1, 1960.  He was captured by the KGB, subjected to an internationally televised show trial, and imprisoned.  Mr. Powers’ presentation will discuss theCold War in general and his father’s ordeal in particular, leading to his exchange for convicted Soviet spy Rudolf Abel.

    Tickets for the presentation must be purchased in advance on the museum’s web site at www.wotn.org and are $20 each.  Only 50 tickets will be sold.  The museum is located at 14857 Pioneer Trail inEden Prairie.  Museum volunteers will assist with directions to parking.  The one-hour presentation will start at 7pm but doors will open at 6pm and museum admission is included in the ticket price.  Access to Flying Cloud Airport for both the public and media is through Gate H, one mile west of Flying Cloud Drive on Pioneer Trail.
